Pervy Pensioners 29/01/15

Today me Eleni and Hannah proceeded with out old women character scene. We decided that we would be called either the pervy pensioners or the naughty nannas.
We would base or performance on old people turning modern day popularr music/technology into old person talk. for example;
Beyoncé's song single ladies, we have changed the lyrics to Widowed ladies.
-Walking in in a single file line as if we were in the single ladies music video, we would dance in singing "all the widowed ladies, all the widowed ladies......"
We came up with the idea to incorporate the audience by looking at the and saying "ooo I didn't see you there"
this scene involves a lot of improvising to come up with ideas.

solo piece continued 28/01/15

Today I carried on thinking about my solo piece.
I decided to change my decision onto talking about my friends and how I don't have many of them.
Daniel gave me this idea.
I think that this is a good idea because with this I can incorporate audience a lot easier by asking around if anyone would like to be my friend or asking them about their friends. I am still going to talk about my friend, however I am going to start it off my interviewing the audience to be my friend then make it flow into talking about my friend  Liv.

individual comedy piece 22/01/15

Today I made a start on creating my own solo comedy piece.
I wrote down notes on what style of comedy I could perform.
- Self deprecation- talking bad about yourself " I am the type of person who....." "every time I...."
- Character comedy/ Caricature
- Musical comedy
- Banter
- Parody
-Story telling
- Monologue

I came up with the idea of talking about one of my friends.
The funny thing about her is that she's not the cleverest of people. very gullible and not the brightest of people. I had a funny story about my friend where she went into her school (which is Jewish) with a Nazi sign drawn on her hand, and another story were her twin brother tricked into looking like a total 'twat'.

My noted for this performance are:

- start with a flipboard/chart
-doodle funny drawings to make audience laugh the start talking about Liv. Describe who she is, what she looks like.
- draw Liv.
- Tell the audience about how she wanted to be a tattoo artist
- bought a fake tattoo pen
- Goes to jewish school
- say I was driving past her school one day and saw her walking home like a absolute....

This idea will need expanding and a lot of testing out.

-monologue style.

The making of our performance 21/01/15

21/01/15

Today we started the making of our comedy performances.
I decided on performing one group performance and one solo. I have to make each performance last 3 minutes however the group performance is a trio therefore will have to last 9 minutes. The trio is a character sketch based on three old ladies (Eleni and Hannah are two of the characters).
Today we got together as a group and discussed stereotypical old women for ideas that we can write down for a bit or even for costume and props. The list includes:
1. Walking stick
2. Zimmer frame
3. Gangster Grannies
4. Tena ladies
5. Sticky hard boiled sweets
6. Tissues
7. Granny knickers
8. Slippers
9. Grand Children
10. Care Workers
11. Widows
12. Perms
13. Musky perfume
14. Big bags
15. Pills/Drugs
16. Dentures
17. Trollys
18. Courting

We had a think as what we could do to make all of this connect together and make it funny.
We decided that our character is going to be what makes people laugh not just what we say, for example our aim is to make the audience laugh from just our entrance onto the stage, before speaking or communicating in any way, by our appearance.

Performing our bits 15/01/15

15/01/15

Last week Daniel gave us a homework task to Google comedians and learn a part out of their routine (a bit). We would then come into college and perform that shot bit to the class.
Today was that day.
The Comedian that I chose to look at was Michael McIntyre.
Michael mcintyres work is not always funny by what he says but by the actions and demonstrations of movement that go with the dialogue.
So as to this the bit that I performed to class was a short story of a recent trip out with my sister. It wasn't a funny story however the actions/ speech tones/ facial expressions transformed the bit into something funny.
In my opinion when I performed the bit I was pretty nervous and babbled on a lot therefore this is something that I could practice and improve on; On the other hand with this being the first time I performed comedy I think that it wasn't a bad attempt, a lot of technique work is needed.
